Biography

I obtained by B.Sc. in Physics with Theoretical Physics at the University of Manchester (1996-1999) followed by a Certificate of Advanced Study in Mathematics (otherwise known as Maths Tripos Part III) at the University of Cambridge (1999-2000).

I studied for my Ph.D. at the Univeristy of Bristol (2000-2003) under the supervision of Prof. Noah Linden. My thesis title was Entangled Quantum Dynamics.

Research
  • Quantum Information Theory and its intersection with the foundations of quantum mechanics.
  • Applications of quantum logic in quantum computer science.
  • Contextuality and its relation to quantum information protocols.
  • The Bayesian approach to quantum probabilities.
  • Hidden variable theories as classical simulations of quantum computing.
  • Non-Completely Positive Maps as a description of the dynamics of initially entangled open systems.
