Haig Atikian was born in North York, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in Electrical Engineering on August 2006. During his undergrad he gained a variety of work experience at numerous companies including MDS Sciex, Cypress Semiconductor, ATI Technologies, and Genesis Microchip. In May 2006, he joined the Integrated Quantum Optoelectronics Lab (IQOL) as an undergraduate research student, and currently is working on his master's degree investigating superconducting optoelectronic devices.
