Biography

I am leading a junior research group at the Max-Planck Institute for Quantumoptics in Garching/Germany. I got my diploma at the Technical University of Munich (extra terrestrial matter), including one year of physics at ENS-Paris, my PhD on "crystalline ion beams" at the LMU-
Munich and after two delightful years in Dave Wineland's and Didi Leibfried's laboratory at NIST-Boulder on quantum computation, we are focussing on a feasibility study on an analogue quantum simulator with trapped ions and on preparing single molecular ions for investigating (sub) femto second dynamics.
