Applications are being invited for fixed term faculty positions (Research Assistant or Associate Professors), at the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC) in conjunction with another University of Waterloo department. The search is focused on outstanding researchers with strong accomplishments in the field of quantum information. The candidates will hold positions at one of the university departments and be cross-appointed to IQC. The main responsibility will be to conduct research, but teaching will be a possibility. Salary will depend on the candidates' qualifications.

Effective dates of appointments are negotiable. The terms will be between three and five years and is potentially renewable. The appointments are subject to the availability of funds. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. The University of Waterloo is host to the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC). Information about IQC personnel and activities can be found at www.iqc.ca. The IQC, at present, includes 17 Faculty in quantum information from the Faculties of Engineering, Mathematics and Science. The candidates will also have the opportunity to interact with scientists at the nearby Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and UW’s Centre for Applied Cryptographic Research.
