Rump Session
TQC 2009 will include a "rump session" on the afternoon of the second day. This session will be an opportunity to present short, informal talks on recent developments. Available presentation methods include a computer projector and a large whiteboard.

The schedule for the rump session will be as follows. Each speaker will have ten minutes, including time for questions.

  • Rolando Somma: Quantum computation via evolution randomization
  • Tzu-Chieh Wei: Interacting bosonic problems are QMA-hard
  • Cedric Beny: Joint measurability of observables preserved by complementary channels
  • Steve Flammia: Improving quantum state tomography
  • Shiang Yong Looi: Types and location of information
  • Robin Blume-Kohout: Streaming entanglement concentration and adaptive quantum data compression
  • Marcos Curty: Upper bounds on the performance of decoy state quantum key distribution
  • Maris Ozols: Quantum random access codes with shared randomness
