Accommodation

Hotel

Accommodation is available at the Waterloo Inn. Please book your room directly through them and mention "IQC" when you book.

We have blocked 20 single rooms and 20 double rooms from the night of May 10 (Sunday), 2009 through the night of May 13, 2009 (4 nights). The rate for either a single or a double room is the same at the price of  CDN$139.00 per night. A third person sharing is an additional $15 per night. Children 16 years and under sharing their parents' accommodation are complimentary. The last day of room booking with the guaranteed rate is March 29, 2009. Due to the limited number of rooms, it is advised to book your room early.

If you wish to arrive earlier or stay longer within 3 days, the same rate is also guaranteed.

On-Campus Residences

For those seeking budget accommodations who don't mind staying in student dorm rooms, an alternative is Ron Eydt Village, a UW on-campus residence. We have blocked a limited number of dorm rooms. Please book directly at the registration page for the UW conference center (mention TQC2009).

Transportation

Most people usually arrive at the Toronto Pearson International airport (YYZ) and then use a shuttle service, such as Airways Transit, or a taxi/limo service. The total time on the road is about 60 minutes if the traffic is normal.
  • Airways Transit provides shared ride door to door service between Kitchener-Waterloo and the Toronto and Hamilton airports.
    Telephone: (519) 886-2121
A one-way trip is approximately $75, and there is group discount if two or more people book tickets together. ADVANCE RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL SERVICES.

  • Boulevard Limousine
    Telephone: (519) 886-8090
    Approximately $210 round-trip.

  • Wright Limousine
    Telephone: (519) 894-5555

The Kitchener-Waterloo airport (YKF) is much smaller, with limited flights. This is a good choice if you can find a reasonable connection, since it's only about a 20 minute drive to IQC. You can use a taxi or rent a car. Traffic is really not an issue.

If you drive to IQC, parking is $3 per day. There is a pay-and-display ticket machine that takes coins.
